NETS Continued....

I did not get to finish my last thoughts regarding how NETS and the current NJCCCS in technology compare/contrast. It seems that the tech standards from NJ are more generalized. Not as specific and detailed as the NETS. The nj standards (8.1) focus more on using the computer to gather information or create work such as presentation or about using the computer applications. It does not really focus on the other uses of tech within the classroom for example use of a digital camera or use of scanner etc. The 8.2 standards relate to design and problem solving as well as the impact of technology the w0rld today. The NETS do focus on design and problem solving as well..but there seems to be so many other areas addressed, such as how to operate tech systems and equip (maybe using tech as more) working in collaboration also appears to be strong.

To sum up my random thoughts....the NETS standards are more specific than the NJ tech standards.
